Hi, my name is Chris Johnson and I have the privilege of being the ministry team leader in the North Pine Anglican Church.
I am a Brisbane boy, growing up in the suburb of Moorooka. I have had a short stint in the town of Ingham, leasing cane harvesters for Esanda Finance and three years in Melbourne studying theology at Ridley College. It was here I met my wife, Lynda, who was also studying with the prospect of a pastoral ministry in Sydney. This was not to be - we married and I whisked her off to Brisbane to be my partner in life and to share a team ministry. In 2000 Lynda was ordained and after a three year curacy in Bribie Island Parish she now works together with me in North Pine. We have three children Rachel, Cameron and Clare who are a constant source of inspiration to me.
I have a great love for Parish Ministry with all its struggles and joys. I long to see a Church fully functioning as the Body of Christ on earth, bringing healing and grace to our broken world. There is nothing more exciting than seeing a person discover that grace, decide to follow Jesus and find their ministry within the Body. Forget the grand final win, the career promotion or the gold medal, this is where the real action is! I stand in awe that despite all the distractions of this world, God is building his Church at North Pine and has called me to play my part to nurture that growth.
