Our Priorities

Prayer

Under the Lordship of Jesus Christ -

We believe prayer is the foundation for our life in God as individuals and in
community and therefore ...

1.         We encourage personal daily devotion centred on Bible reading and prayer.

2.         We encourage prayer groups as the fuel for our ministry and mission.

3.         We want to have a deep sense of dependence on God and a waiting on him for the direction we should go.  We want to be in step with the Holy Spirit.

In all our worship our primary focus is God and bringing glory to his holy name.

We worship in the Anglican tradition, drawing on the rich resources of the New Testament Church, Book of Common Prayer [1662], and numerous revisions since, but especially 1978 and 1995.  We will draw on resources from the worldwide Anglican Communion and from other Churches so as to present the Gospel in a fresh and compelling way.  We believe in the Anglican principle of liturgy being in the language of the people and will seek to present liturgy which connects with the intended congregation.

Under the Lordship of Jesus Christ -

We believe in …

1. worship which is well planned, thematic, relational, provides good teaching, welcomes newcomers, draws people's hearts and minds to the Gospel and the glory of God.

2. preaching which expounds the Bible and applies the message to today's world.

3. worship which meets the pastoral needs of people and encourages them in ministry and sends them out to fulfil the Great Commission.  [Matthew 28:19  'Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.']
