MU at North Pine
The Mothers’ Union, a world-wide Christian organisation of over three million women and men, began in England in 1876.
MU members endeavour to promote the well-being of families worldwide by living out our Mission Statement of sharing Christ’s love by encouraging strengthening, and supporting marriage and family life.
The Purpose of MU is to be specially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life.
The Aim of MU is the advancement of the Christian religion in the sphere of marriage and family life.
In order to carry out this Aim its Objects are:
• To uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and to promotes
it wider understanding.
• To encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life
of the Church.
• To maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship
and service.
• To promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and
the protection of children.
• To help those people whose family life has met with adversity.
The MU Australia's national magazine, MIA MIA, an Aboriginal word for home,is published quarterly with feature articles, letters, events and news from around the various dioceses of the Anglican Church of Australia.
In North Pine Parish, MU meets at St John the Baptist on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, following the 10.00 am Communion Service. Our gatherings provide a time of fellowship and friendship over morning tea and a light lunch.
Lively and interesting programme which relate to the five objects includes guest speakers, visits to and from other branches, videos and outreach within and beyond the parish. New members are always most welcome.
